In a bid to ensure that drug treatment programs are executed effectively, officials from the Drug Court recently paid a visit to several treatment centers across the Maldives. The visit, which was in line with the Drug Act 2011, aimed at monitoring the execution of treatment programs in accordance with Rehabilitation Orders.

The team of officials, which included judges and staff of the court, visited drug treatment centers in S.Hithadhoo, S.Hulhudhoo, Gdh.Thinadhoo, Gdh.Vilingili, Ga.Vilingili, and Gn.Fuvamulah. During the visit, they met with officials of the centers and clients who were in ongoing treatment programs.

The team engaged in discussions with the treatment center officials and clients, where they discussed the difficulties faced in executing the treatment programs and explored ways to improve the treatment process. The team also inspected the facilities to ensure that they were in good condition and met the required standards.
