Ceremony Held for Clients' Success in Overcoming Addiction
August 15, 2024, a ceremony took place to honor individuals who successfully have completed their treatment programs under the drug court rehabilitation order, celebrating their commitment to overcoming drug addiction and beginning new, substance-free lives.
The Chief Guest of the event was the Minister of State for Homeland Security and Technology & the Chairperson of National Drug Agency board, Al Usthaza Lubna Zahir Hussain. In her keynote address, she praised the clients’ determination while also acknowledging the significant difficulties they faced throughout their recovery journey. She emphasized the physical and emotional challenges, the stigma surrounding addiction, and the need for continued support for those battling substance abuse.
One participant bravely spoke about their personal struggles during journey of addiction. They shared how the road to recovery had been filled with difficulties, from the intense cravings to the emotional toll of battling addiction. The participant highlighted the fear of relapse and the societal judgment they often felt, which made staying committed to treatment a constant challenge. Yet, despite these obstacles, they credited the support of the NDA and Drug Court for the treatment program and for helping them find the strength to persevere.
Their story of resilience and determination inspired those in attendance, offering hope to others still on their path to recovery. The event served as a celebration of success and a reminder of the ongoing challenges of addiction recovery, with a shared commitment to brighter, healthier futures for all involved.
