Visit to Treatment Centers 2023 (August)

A team of Drug Court visited the Drug Detoxification and Community Rehabilitation Center in GDh.Thinadhoo and Dhagena Community Rehabilitation Center in GA Villingili, from 27 August 2023 to 31 August 2023.

The purpose of the trip was to check whether treatment was being carried out as per Article 96 of Law No. 17/2011 (Drug Act).

During the visit, the centers’ management and staffs had the opportunity to discuss treatment problems and the need for improvement. In addition, the team met with the clients and observed the progress of the treatment.


About Drug Court

Drug Court is a superior court established under the Act number 17/2011 (Drug Act) to hear and dispose of criminal cases of drug dependent persons, and subject such persons to mandatory treatment and rehabilitation programs in order to reduce or eliminate their dependency on drugs and thus increasing their chances of reintegration into the community as responsible citizens .
