Visit to Treatment Centers 2023 (October)

A team of Drug Court visited the Rehabilitation Centers in Addu Atoll from 3rd October 2023 to 7th October 2023, and to treatment center in Fuvahmulah from 25th October 2023 to 28th October 2023.

These include the Vilunu Center in S.Hulhudhoo, the Drug Detoxification Center in S.Hithadhoo, and the Drug Detoxification and Community Rehabilitation Center in Fuvahmulah

The purpose of the trip was to ensure that treatment was being carried out in accordance with Article 96 of Law No. 17/2011 (Drug Act)

During the visit, the centers’ management and staffs had the opportunity to discuss treatment problems and the need for improvement. In addition, the team met with the clients and observed the progress of the treatment.


About Drug Court

Drug Court is a superior court established under the Act number 17/2011 (Drug Act) to hear and dispose of criminal cases of drug dependent persons, and subject such persons to mandatory treatment and rehabilitation programs in order to reduce or eliminate their dependency on drugs and thus increasing their chances of reintegration into the community as responsible citizens .
