Some of the drug users who complete treatment are employed during the treatment period. The Recovery Maintenance Program is designed to provide assistance that prioritizes the needs of the recipients by introducing a treatment program that is easy for the recipients to complete.
The main objective of this program is to provide the necessary assistance to people who work responsibly in their lives and make them drug-free, productive and responsible people in society. Also providing long-term access to the support needed to remain drug-free is among the objectives of the recovery maintenance program.
The duration of the program is 03 months.
Methadone Maintenance Treatment (MMT) is a cornerstone of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid dependence. It's a long-term approach that relies on the prescribed, daily administration of methadone, an opioid agonist, to manage dependence and combat its harmful effects. MMT, within the MAT framework, offers several key benefits:
1-Reduced cravings and withdrawal symptoms: Methadone binds to opioid receptors in the brain, satisfying them and minimizing the intense cravings and discomfort associated with withdrawal. This allows individuals to focus on other aspects of recovery without the constant tug of addiction.
2-Increased stability and well-being: MMT fosters physical and mental stability, enabling individuals to pursue employment, education, and relationships. Reduced drug use also lowers the risk of criminal activity and exposure to infectious diseases.
3-Improved cognitive function: Opioid dependence can impair cognitive abilities. MMT, by stabilizing the brain environment, can improve memory, focus, and decision-making, facilitating overall recovery.
4-Overdose prevention: Street opioids vary in potency, drastically increasing overdose risk. MMT provides a consistent, regulated dose, significantly reducing overdose potential. However, MMT is not a standalone solution. It's most effective when combined with individual and group therapy, addressing the underlying psychological and social issues that contribute to addiction. This comprehensive approach helps individuals develop coping mechanisms, rebuild lives, and ultimately achieve sustained recovery.
